Artist Bio

Janice N. Frederick was always interested in creative and artistic projects. At ten years old, she began her  art training every Saturday with Mrs. Thompson until she started college.  Throughout her college years, while

studying architecture, she included a drawing, painting or sculpture class in her curriculum. After graduating from the College of Architecture at

the University of Arizona, she continued to paint. While working as an architect and in the

construction industry, she  completed many commissioned portraits. Her husband's work took her family to live for several years in Togo, Africa, and Romania, Eastern Europe. During that time she was able to paint exclusively. She has continued her education through classes in painting and portraiture from renowned artists Daniel Green, Kerry Dunn at Studio Incamminati, and Ellen Cooper. She enjoys "Plein Air" competitions in various locations. When indoors, she works in her studio, Faces n' Places Art Sudio in Havre de Grace, Maryland.
